About Helena: 'A Woman with Wings'

 

I am a sparkling woman full of zest for life. Travel, lifestyle, beautiful things, food and (of course) coffee are my passions. From a young age I was enchanted by the world; my parents' honeymoon photos from Kenya completely drew me into their magical atmosphere. I inherited my love for cooking and good food from both my father and my grandmother, and my eye for beautiful things is perhaps a unique talent. And let's be honest, who can resist the smell and taste of a perfect cup of coffee?

 

For me, happiness is all about balance. Healthy food, sports, warm contacts: that is the basis. But above all, I want to enjoy life and be grateful for everything it has to offer.

 

During my long solo trip through different countries I kept a blog, so friends and family could follow my adventures. But when I got home, I got a big dose of travel blues. I missed sharing my passion, my 'joie de vivre'. That's when I thought: why not continue writing? Why not start my own website where I can continue sharing my enthusiasm and inspiration?! Because what's better than making others happy with stories that make me happy?!

 

And then there’s the flamingo… Did you know that this beautiful bird symbolizes fun, elegance, and balance in life? For years I’ve been drawn to flamingos – whether it’s in the form of cute gadgets or as a symbol of who I am. Flamingos live in balance, have flair, and are always surrounded by others. That resonates completely with my way of life. And that’s how ‘When a Flamingo Flies’ came into being.
